Frequently asked questions
Do I need planning permission?
In most cases, no. Our shepherd's huts are built on wheels and are designed to be mobile structures rather than permanent buildings.
When used for purposes incidental to the main dwelling, such as a home office, guest accommodation, hobby room, studio, or playroom, planning permission is generally not required.
Our huts are not designed to be used as a permanent residence. If you intend to use a hut for commercial purposes, holiday letting, or as living accommodation, we recommend checking with your local planning authority, as different rules may apply.
Are the shepherds huts towable/road worthy?
Our shepherd's huts are built on a heavy-duty trailer chassis with wheels and are designed to be movable when required. However, they are not designed or certified to be used as road-going trailers and should not be towed on public roads in the same way as a caravan.
For delivery and relocation, the huts are transported using specialist equipment and vehicles. If you need to move your hut in the future, we can advise on the best method or recommend a suitable transport company.
Can I connect water & electricity
Yes. Our shepherd's huts can be connected to mains electricity, water, and drainage services, making them suitable for a wide range of uses.
Connections are typically carried out by qualified local electricians and plumbers once the hut has been positioned. We can advise on the requirements for your chosen specification and intended use.
If your site does not have access to mains services, alternative off-grid solutions may also be available.
Are the shepherds huts insulated?
Yes. All of our shepherd's huts are fully insulated as standard, helping to keep them warm in the winter and comfortable during the summer months.
Do you offer finance?
We do not currently offer finance options on our shepherd's huts.
Payment terms will be discussed at the time of order, and we are always happy to answer any questions regarding deposits, payment schedules, and delivery times.
